HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 14 USCA golf team is in second place after the first day of competition at the 19th Annual Wexford Intercollegiate, which is hosted by Francis Marion.
The Pacers opened the tournament by shooting five-over par, 293, over the first 18 holes of play. USCA shot even-par, 288, for the second round of action.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Karl Frisk's one-under par, 143. He opened the day by shooting even-par, 72, before firing a one-under par, 71, Monday afternoon. Frisk stands in seventh place.
Nick Goellner and
Oscar Abrahamsson each sit right outside the top 10. The two posted a one-over par, 145, for the first 36 holes of competition.
Erik Olin is 26th after the first day of action. He shot four-over par, 148.
Mitchell McNeill is five-over par through the first two rounds of action. He is in 32nd place.
Xavier leads the field at three-over par. Denver (+7), East Carolina (+12) and High Point (+13) complete the top five teams in the 18-team field.
