AIKEN, S.C. – Former USCA men's basketball standout Jalen McCoy recently signed a professional contract with Kipinä Basket. The team is located in Finland and is part of the Meisten Divisioona IA.

A native of Raleigh, N.C., McCoy was a three-time all-PBC selection. As a senior, he garnered first team all-conference honors while also being selected as the PBC Tournament MVP and a second-team all-region honoree.

"Jalen is certainly on the Mount Rushmore of players for USCA," head coach Mark Vanderslice stated. "He possesses the perfect mix of coachability and talent that every program looks for in a player! I'm so excited to witness all of his hard work come to fruition through his dreams of playing professionally. He has earned every ounce of success that is coming his way!"

McCoy left a tremendous legacy as a Pacer. He completed his career as the school's Division II career leader for total points, games played, field goals made and field goals attempted. McCoy's second in free throws attempted, fourth in free throws made and offensive rebounds. He finished his career in sixth place for total rebounds, seventh in defensive rebounds, ninth in total minutes and 10^th in games started.

"Signing my first professional contract with Kipinä Basket is a dream come true, and I'm excited for the opportunity to compete at a high level in Finland. McCoy's first game is Jan. 11 at home against RaPy.
