Baseball | January 28, 2025
Each week, USCA will post notes.
Early Start!
The 2025 slate opens on Jan. 31, marking the second-earliest start in school history. USCA once started a season on Jan. 30. The program also had one more Jan. 31 start.
It's Good To Be HomeÂ
Head coach
Michael Holder's team has a strong schedule in 2025, but the great thing for the team is the first 14 contests are at Roberto Hernandez Stadium. The Pacers open the year with three-game sets against Mars Hill, Emmanuel and Seton Hill before a midweek contest against Limestone. The squad follows that up with a four-game series against IUP, wrapping up the homestand on Feb. 23.
Preseason Honors
The PBC recently released its preseason all-conference team and head coach
Michael Holder's team had two student-athletes on the list.
Capers Molinaroli (catcher) and
Josh Sharp (outfield) were named to the team.Â
A Lot Of UpperclassmenÂ
USCA has a wealth of experience on the roster this season and that can be seen with 19 upperclassmen. This includes one graduate transfer, a redshirt-senior, five seniors, four redshirt-juniors and eight juniors.
Adding At The Break
Head coach
Michael Holder picked up five student-athletes over the break, bolstering his line-up prior to the start of the season. He added graduate student
Jackson Price, redshirt freshman
Eliud Poventud, junior
Nick Taddei and sophomores
Logan Jamrosz and
Donovan Glisson.Â
Regional And National RecruitingÂ
USCA baseball has been outstanding in finding talented student-athletes in the region and nationally. In addition to having student-athletes from South Carolina and Georgia, the staff has assembled its team from Florida, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, Michigan and Colorado.
Winning The Last Series
USCA closed out the regular season in 2024 in fine style, taking the series from USC Beaufort. In the three-game set, the Pacers rattled off 19 runs while winning the series 2-1 over the Sand Sharks.Â
