ELON, N.C. – The USCA women's cross country team recorded a fourth-place finish at the Elon Night Invitational Friday evening.
The Phoenix won the race while Davidson and Charlotte were second and third, respectively. The Pacers were the top Division II team in the standings of the 4k event. North Carolina A&T, Fayetteville State, Mount Olive, Averett and Guilford concluded the standings.
Head coach
Marshall Leonard's team was paced by rookie
Gabrielle Jourdain's time of 15:28.7. Her mark was good enough for 25
th place. Second-year standout
Alaynah Guthrie notched a time of 15:44.5 for 27
th place, edging newcomer
Sydney Fallin (15:44.7).
Bailey Kirkland took 30
th after crossing the line in 16:29.6 while fellow newcomer
Jenna Couch was 33
rd with a time of 16:49.2.
Tess Studley posted a 34
th-place effort. She accounted for a time of 16:52.0 while
Ainhoa Colino garnered a time of 17:14.4 for 39
th place.
Savannah Hill crossed the line in 17:16.1 while fellow newcomers
Emma Cox (17:28.7) and
Jade Weber (18:07.2) were not far behind.
The Pacers return to action Friday, Sept. 13, at the Queens Invitational.
