Women's Cross Country | August 19, 2024
AIKEN, S.C. – The USCA men's cross country and women's cross country teams visited Aiken Elementary School Monday afternoon.
Together, the teams had 10 student-athletes visit various classrooms throughout the day to read to the youth.
The Pacers read to students in kindergarten, first grade and fourth grade.
"I love kids so much so getting the opportunity to read to children in the area was so much fun," women's cross country standout
Taylor Joop said. "One of the girls in my class shared my name which was so special. I hope we can go back and read to the kids again!"
"I had a really great time reading to the kids today," men's cross country standout
Julio Rojas stated. "They had a lot of energy but listened really well and were very engaged. We had some fun conversations after I finished reading. Overall it was a great experience with many laughs to be had and enjoyed."
