AUGUSTA, Ga. – After a weather delay prior to the first round of action, the No. 7 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team stands in second place at the Peach Belt Conference Championship.
The event is being played at Forest Hills Golf Club on the par-72, 7,086-yard course.
North Georgia leads the tournament at 11-under par, 277. USC Aiken is five strokes behind the Nighthawks after shooting six-under par, 282. Lander is third at three-under par, 285. Columbus State (-1, 287), Georgia Southwestern (+1, 289), Georgia College & State (_2, 290), Flagler College (_5, 293) and USC Beaufort (+7, 295) round out the field.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was paced by
Oscar Abrahamsson's four-under par, 68. He accounted for five birdies and one bogey.
Rory McDonald O'Brien and
Erik Olin are tied for ninth. Each shot one-under par, 71.
Jonah Winter registered an even-par, 72. He is tied for 14
th.
Mitchell McNeill is in 27
th place at two-over par, 74.
