Hitting Dingers
Head coach
Jaclin Poole's team used the long ball in the opening game of the series at Flagler. The Pacers's
Mallory Shaver crushed a three-run homer in the first inning for a 3-0 lead. Up 3-1 in the fourth,
Ella Stone went yard with a solo blast, accounting for four of the five runs by Poole's team in the win.
Skylar's Saving Catch
Leading 5-3 in the seventh inning, USC Aiken secured the hard-fought win against the Saints when
Payton Baker forced a fly ball to right field.
Skylar Morley raced in and dove forward, snagging the fly ball for the final out.
Tying The Mark
With
Jena Dewalt's solo home run in the series finale at Flagler, head coach
Jaclin Poole's team tied the school record for home runs in a season. The squad has crushed 42 round-trippers this year, tying the mark established last year. The previous mark of 41 was also set by Poole's team – in 2022.
Big Weekend Ahead
USC Aiken has just three regular-season PBC games left on the docket – at home against Georgia Southwestern this weekend. A win secures the team's spot as the No. 5 seed. The team is looking to finish above .500 in the PBC for the first time under head coach
Jaclin Poole – and the first time since going 15-7 during the NCAA Tournament bid season of 2014.
Spotlighting The Seniors
On Saturday, USC Aiken will honor the three seniors on the team prior to the first game of the doubleheader. Those being honored are
Taylor Butts,
Jena Dewalt and
Skylar Morley. Fans should arrive at least 30 minutes before the first pitch so they will not miss any of the ceremony.
Celebration At J.H. Satcher Field
On Sunday, fans can celebrate the final scheduled USC Aiken contest at J.H. Satcher Field. Having been a staple of USC Aiken softball since March 22, 2004, the Pacers will move to a new facility across the street in 2025. Fans can get a glimpse of where the team will play next year here:
