AIKEN, S.C. – After wrapping up a second-palace finish at the 27
th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, the University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is now No. 3 in the latest National Collegiate Golf Rankings, powered by clippd.
North Georgia remained at the top spot while Lincoln Memorial is No. 2. Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team jumped up two spots after the second-place effort this week. Grand Valley is No. 4 while Georgia Southwestern is fifth in the national ranking.
The Pacers were the lone Division II team in the 15-team field. USC Aiken standout
Rory McDonald O'Brien claimed the individual championship after shooting three-under par, 207.
In the fall portion of the slate, the team took third at the Bearcat Fall Invitational, fifth at the Cateechee Fall Invitational, sixth at the Furman Intercollegiate and was ninth at the Mizuno Intercollegiate.
This semester, USC Aiken was second at the Wexford Intercollegiate and sixth at the Spring Bulldog Clash prior to the runner-up position at the 27
th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
