Each week, USC Aiken will post notes. This week, the Pacers host Lander on Friday, March 29 and Saturday, March 30.
Nearly A Career High
In the opener at Columbus State, pitcher
Lakyn Phillips was just one strikeout away from tying her career high from her freshman year. The Lexington, S.C., native struck out 14 batters and did not walk anyone. Phillips' career high is 15, which occurred in a win at Augusta during the 2022 campaign.
Battling With The Best
Although USC Aiken was unable to pick up a win at Columbus State, head coach
Jaclin Poole's team had a lead in all three contests. The squad was in the games against No. 1 North Georgia as well. Additionally, USC Aiken split with No. 11 Wingate. This bodes well for USC Aiken down the stretch as it plays the No. 3 and No. 4 teams in the PBC rankings (currently) in two of the next three weekends.
Dinger For Dixon
In the series finale against Columbus State, rookie
Austyn Dixon blasted a solo home run down the left field line. It marked her team-leading eighth round tripper of the season. She's tied for fourth in the PBC for homers.
