LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – The No. 6 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team posted a fifth-place finish at the Tennessee River Rumble, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
The Pacers finished at 14-over par, 878. The squad was just a stroke out of fourth-place Wingate, which finished at 13-over par, 877. No. 2 Lincoln Memorial claimed the title after shooting even-par, 865. No. 1 North Georgia was second after posting a one-over par, 865. Union (Tenn.) was third at nine-over par, 873.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Erik Olin's outstanding finish. He took second place after registering a two-under par, 214. Olin shot rounds of 76-64-74 at the 7,065-yard, par-72 course. His two-under par was just two strokes back of first place.
Mitchell McNeill garnered a 27th-place finish after shooting five-over par, 221. He notched scores of 72-70-79 for the 54-hole event.
Oscar Abrahamsson tied for 35th. He garnered scores of 74-70-78 to finish at six-over par, 222.
Rory McDonald O'Brien finished at 11-over par, 227. He tallied rounds of 80-67-80.
Jonah Winter tied for 78th at 16-over par, 232.
The Pacers return to action Apr. 15-16 for the Wofford Invitational.
