AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 6 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming Tennessee River Rumble, hosted by No. 2 Lincoln Memorial.
The event will take place March 25-26 at the WindRiver Golf Club in Lenoir City, Tenn.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team will consist of
Rory McDonald O'Brien,
Erik Olin,
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Jonah Winter and
Mitchell McNeill.
Abrahamsson leads the team with his 71.41 stroke average. Having played in all eight tournaments, Abrahamsson's best round is a team-low 67. He has two top-five efforts to his credit, including a victory at the Wexford Intercollegiate.
McDonald O'Brien sports a 71.58 stroke average. He shares a team-low 67 as his best round of the season. McDonald O'Brien claimed an individual title at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. He also has another top-five finish to his credit.
Olin carries a 71.91 stroke average. He has two top-10 efforts on the season, including a sixth-place finish at the Bearcat Fall Invitational. He has shot par or better 10 times. Olin's best round of the year is a 68.
Winter has a 72.33 stroke average. He has shot par or better five times this season. Winter's best round of the year was a 67. His best finish is a 15
th-place effort at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
McNeill, who has played in three events, sports a 74.88 stroke average. This marks his fourth event of the season. McNeill has shot par or better three times and his best round of the year is a 70.
This marks the first time since the 2021-22 season USC Aiken has competed in the event. That year, the Pacers finished sixth at the tournament. Abrahamsson is the lone student-athlete on the team that competed in the event.
