EATONTON, Ga. – The No. 3 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in third place after the first day of competition at the Bobcat Invitational.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team is two strokes back of first-place Lander. After 36 holes of competition, USC Aiken stands at 11-over par, 571. The Bearcats lead the 15-team field at nine-over par, 569, while West Florida is second at 10-over par, 570.

Georgia Southwestern and North Georgia are a stroke behind USC Aiken. They are tied for fourth at 12-over par, 572.

The Pacers shot an opening-round 283 before firing a second-round 288 in windy conditions.

On the par-70, 6,701-yard course, Rory McDonald O'Brien is tied for fourth at one-under par, 139. He opened with a three-under par, 67, before firing a two-over par, 72, for the next 18 holes of play.

Oscar Abrahamsson is tied for 18^th with a four-over par, 144. He shot a three-over par, 73, before posting a one-over par, 71, for the second round of action.

Erik Olin and Jonah Winter are tied for 29^th. They shot six-over par, 146. Winter's second round of even-par, 70, marked the team's best score for the second 18 holes of competition.

Nick Goellner shot seven-over par, 147, and stands in a tie for 40^th.
