AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 13 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the 18^th Annual Wexford Intercollegiate, which is hosted by Francis Marion Feb. 19-20.

The two-day tournament takes place at the Arnold Palmer Signature Course – Wexford – in Hilton Head Island, S.C. The course is a 6,913-yard, par-72 and will begin with a shotgun start on Monday at 8:15 a.m. 

On Monday, the teams will play 36 holes before playing 18 holes on Tuesday once again beginning with an 8:15 a.m., shotgun start.

A year ago, head coach Michael Carlisle's team won the event by five strokes over second-place Dayton. The Pacers claimed the title with a 54-hole tally of 15-over par, 879. 

USC Aiken has claimed the team championship at the event four times (2006, 2009, 2014 and 2023). Roberto Diaz won the individual championship in 2009 by shooting two-under par.

This year, USC Aiken's line-up features Oscar Abrahamsson, Rory McDonald O'Brien, Erik Olin, Justice Hartman and Nick Goellner.

Abrahamsson leads the team with a 71.3 stroke average. He has a low round of 68 and has competed in all four fall tournaments. 

Olin is second on the team with a 71.6 stroke average. He has competed in all four events and has one top-10 finish to his credit.

McDonald O'Brien's 71.8 stroke average is third on the team. He has shot par or better six times on the year and has a top-five finish while playing in all four tournaments.

Hartman has competed in three events and has shot par or better three times. Currently, he has a 73.7 stroke average.

Goellner will be making his first appearance as a Pacer. The freshman from Holly Springs, N.C., was a three-time all-conference honoree. Goellner won the 2022 TGF Wester Carolinas Jr. and posted a pair of second-place efforts at the Pine Hollow Invitational and the TGF Pinewild Fall Jr. Classic.
