AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken women's cross country team recorded a third-place finish at the Blue Bear Invitational Friday morning.
Fayetteville State and St. Augustine's were first and second, respectively, in the eight-team field.
Head coach
Marshall Leonard's team was led by
Tess Studley's mark of 20:43.26, which was good enough for fourth place in the tightly-contested field.
Taylor Joop also notched a top-10 effort after crossing the line in 21:29 for eighth place.
Amaiyah Smith notched a time of 22:30.54. She took 13
th in the 5k race.
Olivia Moriates garnered a 20
th-place finish after crossing the line in 23:31.59.
Bailey Kirkland was not too far behind her, taking 24
th in a time of 23:53.14.
Alaynah Guthrie accounted for a time of 24:48.06, which was good enough for 28
th. One spot behind her was
Olivia Robertson after finishing in 25:12.46.
Madison Hart posted a time of 27:11.38 for 33
rd place while
Kaitlynn Ford was 40
th after crossing the line in 28:40.16.
The Pacers return to action Saturday, Sept. 16 when they compete at the Converse Invitational.
