AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming Cateechee Fall Invitational.
The event is hosted by Lander University and will be played in Hartwell, Ga. and will be played on a 6,646-yard, par-71 course. The 54-hole event will take place Oct. 2-3.
In addition to USC Aiken and the host Bearcats, the tournament includes the likes of No. 6 North Georgia, No. 8 Georgia Southwestern, No. 9 Anderson, No. 11 Lincoln Memorial, No. 16 Carson-Newman, Belmont Abbey, Coker, Columbus State, Emmanuel, Erskine, Flagler, Georgia College & State, Lenoir-Rhyne, Limestone, Newberry, USC Beaufort, West Georgia and Wingate.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team will consist of
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Justice Hartman,
Rory McDonald O'Brien,
Erik Olin and
Jonah Winter.
Abrahamsson leads the team with a 71.0 stroke average. In his six rounds, Abrahamsson has shot par or better in each. His best round of the year is a 69.
Olin is not far behind Abrahamsson with a 71.8 stroke average. He has three rounds of par or better and has the team's best finish so far – a sixth-place effort at the Bearcat Fall Invitational. His low round of the season to this point is a 68.
McDonald O'Brien sports a 72.3 stroke average. He has reached par or better in three of his six rounds of action with a low round of 70.
Hartman will be competing in his second tournament as a Pacer. In his first one, Hartman tallied a stroke average of 74.3. He posted one round of par or better, which was a 71.
Winter will be competing in his first tournament of the season.
