AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming Mizuno Intercollegiate, which will take place Monday and Tuesday.

The tournament is hosted by North Georgia and will be played in Gainesville, Ga., at the Chattahoochee G.C.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team will consist of Oscar Abrahamsson, Erik Olin, Rory McDonald O'Brien, Justice Hartman and Mitchell McNeill.

USC Aiken is coming off a third-place finish at the Bearcat Fall Invitational a week ago.

Olin leads the team with a 69.7 stroke average. He had a low round of 68 and registered a top-10 finish to his credit.

Abrahamsson posted a 71.0 stroke average last week and notched a low round of 69. McDonald O'Brien's 71.7 is third on the team. He accounted for a low round of 70.

McNeill will compete in his second tournament at USC Aiken. He garnered a 73.0 stroke average and tallied a low round of 70.

Hartman is a graduate student who attended Southeastern Oklahoma State.

USC Aiken will compete against Anderson, Carson-Newman, Columbus State, Erskine, Findlay, Florida Southern, Georgia College & State, Georgia Southwestern, Lander, Lee, Limestone, Lincoln Memorial, North Georgia, USC Beaufort, West Florida and Wingate.

The course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. on the banks of Lake Lanier, Chattahoochee Golf Club has been one of the premiere public golf courses in North Georgia since 1960. Built on 183 acres of rolling farmland, the course design allows for easy walking and is enjoyable for both scratch and high handicap golfers. In 2021, the golf course completed a $2 million renovation over six months that restored the venue to its original Robert Trent Jones, Sr. layout. The renovation included a recontouring of all greens and a conversion from bent grass to Bermuda Tiff Eagle. Chattahoochee Golf Club is home to 1973 Masters Champion Tommy Aaron and served as host of the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship and 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Golf South Regional.
