AIKEN, S.C. – Former University of South Carolina Aiken golf standout
Brandon Robinson-Thompson recently landed his second professional victory on the Clutch Tour this season at The Country Garage BMW NI Open at Galgorm.
With the win, he has earned first place in the OOM and 8 Challenge Tour Invites, along with a start on the DP World Tour at the ISPS Handa.
After the victory, Robinson-Thompson stated, "Today was a good day, but it's not just about today, it's an accumulation of hours and hours of practice. And these (wins) are just the tip of the iceberg."
At the Ballymena venue, Robinson-Thompson opened with a surreal seven-under par, 63. For his final two rounds, Robinson-Thompson posted scores of identical one-under par, 69, to claim the victory.
"We are thrilled to watch Brandon thrive," head golf coach
Michael Carlisle said. "Everyone that knew him when he was a student-athlete knew he would be a tremendous golfer in the professional ranks. Now, others are seeing what
Brandon Robinson-Thompson can do and it has been fun to watch. We thoroughly enjoy following Brandon in his professional career."
By virtue of his second title on the Clutch Pro Tour and leading the NI Swing Series Order of Merit, the former two-time All-American at USC Aiken also booked his place in the $3 million ISPS HANDA World Invitational presented by AVIV Clinics back at Galgorm and Castlerock Golf Club Aug. 17-20.
