AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken, in conjunction with head women's soccer coach
Tina Murphy, is excited to announce the addition of seven student-athletes for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year.
Burns Brazzell,
Lexi Bush,
Hailey Crew,
Mia Duncan,
Carmen Jones,
Maggie Oduor and
Brooke Salerno will continue their athletic and academic careers at USC Aiken beginning this fall.
"We are greatly looking forward to the addition of our 2023 class," Murphy said. "They are a talented group both on and off the field, who will help us continue to meet our team goals. We are very excited to see them start working together with our wonderful returners."
Brazzell is a 5-5 midfielder from Rock Hill, S.C. She attended USC Lancaster for two years after graduating from Northwestern H.S. At USC Lancaster, Brazzell was a two-time first-team all-region selection while accounting for 18 goals and 23 assists in two years. While at Northwestern H.S., she garnered all-state, all-region and all-area honors.
Bush is a 5-3 defender from Evans, Ga. She attended Lakeside H.S. An honorable mention all-state state selection as a junior, Bush picked up all-region honors twice. She led her team to the region title as a junior.
Crew is a 5-10 goalkeeper from West Haven, Utah. She attended Lake Tahoe C.C. for two years after graduating from Fremont H.S. At Lake Tahoe C.C., Crew guided the team to a conference title in 2022. She posted 13 shutouts, including nine in league action. Against conference competition, she did not allow a goal.
Duncan is a 5-9 defender from Saint Augustine, Fla. She attended Tocoi Creek H.S. An all-region selection, Duncan was tabbed a North Florida Senior all-star. The team MVP was a two-time captain and was selected as the Defender of the Year her senior campaign.
Jones is a 5-5 defender from Saint Petersburg, Fla. She attended Dixie Hollins H.S. A three-time all-county honoree, she found the back of the net 42 times during the 2021 and 2022 seasons. A multi-sport student-athlete who was also a standout track & field performer, Jones was tabbed the 2022-23 Female Athlete of the Year.
Oduor is a 5-7 midfielder/defender from Hurricane, W. Va. She attended Hurricane H.S. and was a two-time all-state selection. A four-time all-region and all-conference honoree, Oduor accounted for 13 goals and 19 assists during her career.
Salerno is a 5-6 forward/midfielder from Jacksonville, Fla. She attended Calvary Christian Academy and played club ball for Palm Beach GA. Salerno led the squad with 17 goals and paced the squad in assists.
