AUGUSTA, Ga. – Two University of South Carolina Aiken golf standouts have been named to the PBC Team of Academic Distinction, presented by Barnes & Noble College.

Oscar Abrahamsson and Leonardo Bono have been named to the team.

Abrahamsson sported a 3.696 GPA in business administration. Bono tallied a 3.616 GPA in business administration.

Abrahamsson, a native of Gothenburg, Sweden, accounted for a 74.0 stroke average and had eight rounds of par or better on the year, including a season-low 69 during the first round of the Spring Bulldog Splash. Abrahamsson garnered a pair of top-20 finishes on the season.

Bono, a native of Rivera, Switzerland, registered a 72.8 stroke average. He accounted for two top-five finishes and another top-10 effort. He took second at the Wexford Intercollegiate, fifth at the Bobcat Invitational and ninth at the PBC Championship. Bono notched a season-low 69 in the second round of the Bobcat Invitational.   

To be eligible for the team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
