COLUMBUS, Ga. – University of South Carolina Aiken softball standout
Shi Cain has been named to the PBC All-Tournament Team, which was announced Saturday afternoon.
Cain, a native of Rockwell, N.C., guided the Pacers to a 2-2 mark at the PBC Tournament.
In the PBC Tournament opening game, Cain was sensational. She gave the Pacers a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. Leading 3-0 in the fourth, Cain crushed her second home run of the day. Her three-RBI performance guided the Pacers to a 5-3 win over nationally-ranked No. 2 North Georgia.
In the victory over third-seeded Georgia Southwestern, Cain registered her second consecutive game-winning hit. In the sixth inning, she blasted a double to right center field to score
Holly Daum for what turned out to be the game-winning run.
For the week, she batted .333 with three hits – all of which went for extra bases. Two of the three hits were of the game-winning variety. Cain had a team-best four RBI, slugged 1.111 and had a .500 on-base percentage.
