AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken women's basketball standout
Jentri Worley will return for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Worley, a rising redshirt-junior, garnered third-team all-conference honors a season ago. She started all 30 games and guided the Pacers to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2012-13 campaign.
Worley averaged 11.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.67 assists a night. She poured in a season-best 21 points at Young Harris and hit a season-high eight field goals in the win over North Georgia. Worley distributed a career-high 10 assists in her double-double effort at Mount Olive. She accounted for another double-double with a 10-point, 12-rebound contest at Flagler.
"After the season, I looked back and saw the great year that we had," Worley said. "I knew at that time I wasn't ready to hang it up since I have more eligibility.
"We have a good, young core returning and I wanted to not only play longer but be part of that team. I want to keep being a leader and help the team however they need me to be moving forward."
Worley graduated in May with her degree in psychology and will pursue an MBA.
