DAVIE, Fla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team wrapped up the first day of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional at two-under par, 282.

Michael Carlisle's team is in seventh place after the first 18 holes of competition. Nova Southeastern is hosting the regional at the Grande Oaks Golf Club, which is a par-71, 6,725-yard course.
Oscar Abrahamsson leads the way for the Pacers after shooting two-under par, 69. He opened the tournament with three birdies on the front nine and had two more on the back nine. Abrahamsson is in 12th place.
Karl Frisk shot one-under par, 70, for the first round of action. He opened the day with a birdie but found himself one-over par after the front nine. Frisk carded birdies on No. 10, No. 15 and No. 17 en route to his 70. He is in 25th place.
Rory McDonald O'Brien shot even-par, 71, Thursday. He opened the tournament by shooting three-under par through his first four holes. O'Brien finished the front nine at even par. He was sitting at one-over par through the first 13 holes of play before shooting back-to-back birdies. O'Brien wrapped up the round in 38th place.
Erik Olin began the regional with a birdie. He added two more on the front nine and was two-under par heading to the final nine holes. Olin birdied No. 15 but finished a one-over par, 72. He is tied for 60th.
Leonardo Bono shot three-over par, 74, for the first round of action. His lone birdie of the day came on No. 9, which is a par-four, 436-yard hole.
The field boasts 14 top-25 schools and 19 of the 20 teams competing are in the top 50 in Division II.
Shorter leads the field at 12-under par, 272. Lynn (275) is second while Barry (276) rounds out the top three. West Florida (277), Florida Southern (278) and Clayton State (281) are ahead of USC Aiken. Carlisle's team is tied with North Georgia (282).
