AUGUSTA, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in fourth place after the first day of competition at the Peach Belt Conference Championship.

The tournament is being held at the Forest Hills Golf Club on the par-72, 7,086-yard course.  

Leonardo Bono's one-under par, 71, put him into a tie for third place. Bono accounted for four birdies on the day. Bono is two strokes back of Franco Piovano (Flagler) and Stephen Kinsel (North Georgia) for first place.

Erik Olin is tied for eighth place after shooting one-over par, 73. Olin birdied the final hole of play to move into the top 10.

Karl Frisk is tied for 14^th. He shot two-over par, 74, Friday afternoon. Frisk notched two birdies on the final nine holes of play.

Rory McDonald O'Brien stands in a tie for 30^th place after shooting five-over par, 77, while Oscar Abrahamsson is tied for 33^rd (+6, 78).

Through 18 holes of competition, only five student-athletes are under par.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team opened the tournament with a seven-over par, 295.

North Georgia stands in first place after posting a one-under par, 287. Flagler is second (+2, 290) and Georgia Southwestern is third (+3, 291).

The Pacers are in front of Clayton State (+13, 301), Georgia College & State (+15, 303), Columbus State (+15, 303), Lander (+20, 308) and Young Harris (+22, 310).
