PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in third place after the first day of competition at the Spring Bulldog Clash, which is hosted by Barton.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team shot four-over par, 564. The squad opened the team by shooting three-under par, 277, before posting a second-round seven-over par, 287.
Barton leads the way in the 22-team field after shooting nine-under par, 551. Limestone is second after carding an even-par, 560. Lander is fourth (565) while Belmont Abbey (566) complete the top-five list.
Leonardo Bono's even-par, 140, has him ninth in the field. Bono shot back-to-back rounds of even-par, 70.
Jonah Winter's one-over par, 141, helped him to a 13
th-place effort. Winter shot an opening-round three-under par, 67, before carding a four-over par, 74, for the second 18 holes of play.
Oscar Abrahamsson is three strokes back of Winter for 24
th place. Abrahamsson notched an opening-round one-under par, 69, before shooting five-over par, 75, for the second round.
