Recapping Last Week
The Pacers are now 8-2 (3-0 PBC) on the season after defeating Francis Marion University at home in 10 innings and sweeping North Georgia in Dahlonega, Ga, including a shutout in the final game of the series on Sunday.
Eckert Plays The Hero
James Eckert gave the USC Aiken Pacers the extra inning come-from-behind win on Wednesday over Francis Marion with a single down the right field line that scored
Tyler Littlefield.
Fletcher And Smith Combine For Shutout
Jacob Fletcher got the start Sunday afternoon against the North Georgia Nighthawks and worked eight innings allowing only three hits with eight strikeouts.
Louie Smith worked an inning of relief allowing one hit, completing the shutout.
Doing The Most From The Mound
Dylan Wilhelm earns two wins and a save over the last four games combining for four innings pitched allowing no runs on only one hit with three strikeouts. Wilhelm got wins against Francis Marion and in game two against North Georgia. He also notched the save in game one against the Nighthawks.
AJ Deibel earned the win in game one against North Georgia in relief of
Joel Haney. Deibel pitched 4.2 innings giving up five hits with four strikeouts.
Sophomores And Freshman Shine
For the week, Sophomore
Josh Sharp earned a .471 batting average on eight-of-17 hitting that included one triple, one double, four runs, four RBI, a stolen base and 11 total bases.
Aside from his Wednesday night heroics, Sophomore standout, Eckert, went nine-for-20 with one triple, four runs, three RBI and was three-for-three on stolen base attempts across the four games.
Luke Parker tallied 11 total bases on seven-of-16 hitting, which earned him a .438 batting average across the four games. Parker had one homer along with a double, five runs, six RBI, and two stolen bases.
Freshman sensation
Justin Byrd was six-for-18 at the plate including a homerun, three runs, five RBI, and a perfect three-for-three in stolen base attempts.
Inside The Numbers
USC Aiken currently have a five-game win streak. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 153-105 (59.3 percent) in Friday games, 348-237 (59.5 percent) in Saturday contests and 210-154 (57.7 percent) in Sunday matchups. During that same time, the team is 11-5 on Feb. 24, 9-11 on Feb. 25 and 12-4 on Feb. 26.

This weekend's series is the first time the USC Aiken Pacers and the Embry-Riddle Eagles have faced off in the schools' histories.
