Malone In The Post
In the opener, sophomore
Annalise Malone was outstanding. She accounted for a double-double with 17 points to go along with 15 rebounds. For good measure she added two steals and a block. Malone added nine points and three rebounds on four-of-seven shooting in the game at Carson-Newman.
Woodard's Good Start
Sophomore
Kelsie Woodard has had a good start to her season. In the season-opening victory over Lenoir-Rhyne, Woodard accounted for 10 points and eight rebounds. She canned five-of-eight from the floor. Woodard was the lone Pacer to reach double figures against Carson-Newman by tallying 10 points on four-of-eight shooting while snagging seven rebounds.
Sami's Solid From Downtown
Through the first two games of the regular season, rookie
Sami Bardonaro has been solid from behind the three-point stripe. Bardonaro hit two-of-three from distance in the opener against Lenoir-Rhyne before knocking down two-of-six against Carson-Newman.
Road Warriors
Head coach
Mark Miller's team has a challenging 2023-24 schedule. After starting off with the PBC-SAC Challenge that saw his squad take on Lenoir-Rhyne away from home and play at Carson-Newman, the Pacers have two more big region contests this week. The team plays at Emmanuel and at Winston-Salem State. In all, the team will play four contests away from home before next Tuesday's home opener against Belmont Abbey.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken plays at Emmanuel on Tuesday, Nov. 14 before playing at Winston-Salem State on Saturday, Nov. 18. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 25-21 (54.3 percent) in Tuesday games and 186-187 (49.9 percent) in Saturday contests. During the same time, the team is 5-2 on Nov. 14 and 5-3 on Nov. 18.
