HARTWELL, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team wrapped up the Cateechee Fall Invitational with a fifth-place finish.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Rory McDonald O'Brien's third-place finish. He shot seven-under par, 206, for the 54-hole event.
Erik Olin shot two-under par, 211, for the tournament to finish in a tie for 19
th place.
Oscar Abrahamsson and
Jonah Winter each posted a four-over par, 217 for the event. The dyad tied for 49
th.
For the event, McDonald O'Brien and Olin each shot par or better in all three rounds. Abrahamsson,
Justice Hartman and Winter all garnered par or better scores once apiece.
North Georgia won the 20-team tournament after shooting 37-under par, 815. Lincoln Memorial was second (-22, 830) while Georgia Southwestern was third (-13, 839). Carson-Newman (-6, 846) was fourth while Coker (-5, 847) and USC Aiken (-5, 847) tied for fifth. Carlisle's team went six-under par, 278, during the first round, four-over par, 288, for the second round and three-under par, 281, for the final 18 holes of competition at the two-day event.
The Pacers return to action Oct. 22-23 at the Furman Intercollegiate, which will be held at the Furman University Golf Club.
