Each week, the University of South Carolina Aiken will produce weekly notes. This week, USC Aiken hosts Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 1 before hosting Lander on Saturday, Feb. 4.
Caging The Jaguars
USC Aiken took control early with a 24-17 lead after the first quarter and never looked back in the 16-point win over Augusta in the Convocation Center last Wednesday. The Pacers placed five players in double figures.
Jentri Worley led the way with 15 points while
Emily Trushel had 14.
Breanna Gustave chipped in 12 points while
Hailey Unger and
Kelsie Woodard had 11 and 10, respectively.
Double-Double
Emily Trushel had a huge outing in the win over the Jaguars. The Brentwood, Tenn., native accounted for 14 points and 12 rebounds in 33 minutes of action. Of her 12 rebounds, four came on the offensive glass. She tallied a four-of-seven effort from the floor, including one-of-one from distance. She hit five-of-six from the charity stripe.
Knocking Off The Nighthawks
After holding a slim two-point lead at the break, USC Aiken poured in 23 points in the third quarter while limiting the Nighthawks to 13 en route to an 11-point lead going into the fourth frame. The home team knotted the score on a pair of occasions in the fourth frame, but USC Aiken quickly responded each time while notching the three-point victory.
Twenty-Point Scorers

Mark Miller's team produced a pair of 20-point scorers in the win over No. 19 North Georgia.
Emily Trushel poured in 23 points on eight-of-13 shooting, including four-of-four from downtown.
Jentri Worley accounted for 20 points on eight-of-13 from the floor, including two-of-two from behind the three-point arc.
Unger's Big Day
Rookie
Hailey Unger played 30 minutes at North Georgia and responded with 15 points on seven-of-14 shooting. She also registered a game-high four steals and dished out four assists in the upset victory.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken hosts Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 1 before entertaining Lander on Saturday, Feb. 4. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 131-129 (50.4 percent) in Wednesday games and 181-187 (49.2 percent) in Saturday contests. During the same time, the program is 4-4 on Feb. 1 and 4-5 on Feb. 4.
Against The Opponents
This week, USC Aiken hosts Columbus State on Wednesday, Feb. 1 before entertaining Lander on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Pacers trail the all-time series to the Cougars 37-20. USC Aiken trails the all-time series against the Bearcats 52-46 but the team picked up a road win earlier this season.
