Brooke Moore was presented with the Warrick Student-Athlete Leadership Award Wednesday evening at the Student Life Leadership Banquet.
Moore, a softball student-athlete from Rutherfordton, N.C., was presented the award from head coach
Jaclin Poole.
"Thinking on what the Warrick award stands for, there is no doubt in my mind KB embodies every aspect of it," Poole said. "She is an incredible asset to the team and the softball program, but also to the university itself. Her leadership skills are second to none, she is always there to do the little things and to pick up everyone around her. Everyone that comes into contact with KB leaves better for it."
An exercise and sports science major, Moore picked up PBC all-academic team honors in 2021.
The senior is sporting a .313 batting average and has started all 88 games in her career. Moore has driven in 58 runs and crossed home plate 52 times.
This season, Moore broke into the record book with a school-record tying seven RBI in the win at Georgia College. She stands in fourth place on the USC Aiken career home run list with 17, including 11 this season. Her walk-off solo home run against No. 12 North Georgia marked the 38
th round-tripper for the team this season, breaking the previous school record of 37.
The award was named after Randy Warrick, the previous Director of Athletics and a champion for both our student-athletes and their overall leadership development. The award is given to a student who stands out both within their respective sport and everywhere else.
