ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team finished seventh at the PBC Championship, which wrapped up Sunday afternoon.
Columbus State won the event by a stroke over Flagler. The Cougars finished three-over par, 855, while the Saints posted a score of four-over par, 856. North Georgia was third (+8, 860). Clayton State and Georgia Southwestern tied for fourth after shooting 11-over par, 863. Lander was sixth at 12-over par, 864. Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was a stroke behind the Bearcats, finishing at 13-over par, 865.
Rookies
Charlie Denvir and
Oscar Abrahamsson posted top-five finishes for the event. Denvir shot one-under par, 70, during the final round to finish at three-under par, 210. The score was good enough for fourth place.
Abrahamsson was a mere stroke behind Denvir after shooting an even-par, 71, during the third round. He finished the tournament at two-under par, 211. Abrahamsson tied for fifth.
Leo Johansson notched a 23
rd-place finish after shooting six-over par, 219.
The Pacers return to action May 5-7 at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in Valdosta, Ga.
