ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – The No. 6 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in sixth place after the first day of competition at the PBC Championship.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Oscar Abrahamsson's one-over par, 72. He is tied for seventh. Abrahamsson's best hole came on No. 12 as he shot an eagle.
Fellow rookie
Charlie Denvir shot four-over par, 75. He is tied for 21
st.
Leo Johansson, the PBC Player of the Year, is tied for 25
th. He shot an opening-round 76.
Flagler leads the field. The Saints shot an even-par, 284. Columbus State and Georgia Southwestern are tied for second. The teams each shot five-over par, 289. North Georgia is fourth (+9, 293) while Lander (+15, 299) is fifth.
The Pacers shot 16-over par, 300.
Clayton State, Georgia College and Young Harris round out the field.
The Pacers return to action tomorrow for the second round of the PBC Championship.
