AIKEN, S.C. – University of South Carolina Aiken standout
Leo Johansson has been named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Year, as announced by the league office.
Johansson, a native of Djurö, Sweden, is a two-time All-American. He garnered second-team accolades as a freshman and first-team honors a season ago. The 2019-20 PBC Freshman of the Year is now a three-time first-team all-league selection.
Johansson has three second-place finishes on the season (Camden Collegiate, Queens Fall Invitational and Southern Tide Intercollegiate). He also has a 10
th-place effort to his credit at the Wexford Invitational. He has finished in the top 20 of eight of the 10 tournaments on the year, including four in the top 10.
Johansson has a 70.9 stroke average on the season. He is sixth nationally in the Golfstat Division II rankings with a 71.44 adjusted scoring average. Johansson is 12-6 against golfers in the top-25 nationally, 14-0 against competitors ranked between 26-50 and 27-0 against No. 51-100.
For his career, Johansson has 13 top-10 finishes.
