AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 2 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is in fifth place after the first day of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.

Michael Carlisle's team was led by
Oscar Abrahamsson's fourth-place effort. He opened with a two-over par, 72, before shooting two-under par, 68, over the next 18 holes. Abrahamsson's score was even-par, 140.
Leonardo Bono was a stroke behind Abrahamsson at one-over par, 141. He started the event by carding a score of one-under par, 69, before shooting two-over par, 72, during the second round.
Leo Johansson stands in 19
th after posting a score of four-over par, 144. He shot scores of 73-71 during the first 36 holes of competition.
Karl Frisk's nine-over par, 149, put him in 48
th place. He shot five-over par, 75, before notching a score of four-over par, 74.
South Carolina leads the tournament at three-under par, 557. Virginia is second at seven-over par, 567 while VCU is third at 10-over par, 570. Wofford is fourth (13-over par, 573) while the Pacers are 14-over par (574) after 36 holes.
