HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 2 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team finished sixth at the Wexford Intercollegiate.
Francis Marion won the event after shooting two-over par, 866. Furman took second at three-over par, 867 while Augusta was third (six-over par, 870). East Carolina and Mercer tied for fourth at seven-over par, 871.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team shot 10-over par, 874. The final-round five-under par tied for the lowest round of the day.
Leonardo Bono finished in a tie for seventh. He shot one-under par, 71, over the final 18 holes. For the tournament, Bono shot even-par, 216.
Leo Johansson was right behind Bono, finishing 10
th. Johansson shot one-over par, 217. His final-round four-under par, 68, was the best effort of the tournament for the Pacers.
Rookie
Oscar Abrahamsson took 15
th. After opening the event with a five-over par, 77, Abrahamson shot back-to-back rounds of one-under par, 71. Abrahamsson shot three-over par, 219.
Björn Rosengren finished 31
st at six-over par, 222.
