Each week, the University of South Carolina Aiken will produce notes. This week, USC Aiken will host Young Harris in the home finale before playing at Flagler in the regular-season finale.
Movin' On Up
In the match against Augusta,
Kari Mercer registered 22 digs. With her effort she moved up the record books at USC Aiken twice. Once was for digs in a single season while the other was for digs in a career. Mercer moved past Katie Toman into seventh place on the single-season digs list with 563. She is 42 digs away from sixth place of 605, which is what she had a season ago. Her 1,760 career digs moved her past Roxanna Rivera for fourth place on the list. Rivera is one of three USC Aiken volleyball players to have their jerseys honored. Mercer stands 400 digs behind Samantha Lukralle (2160) and 800 digs behind Rebecca Martinez. Additionally, Mercer is now seventh on the PBC all-time list for digs during the 25-point rally scoring era.
Double-Doubles
In the team's lone match last week,
Mallory Barash,
Emily Lammers and
Kaitlyn Rodriguez each posted double-double efforts. Barash tallied 23 assists and 16 digs while Lammers registered 10 kills and 12 digs. Rodriguez totaled 11 kills and 11 digs in the four-set loss.
Last Home Match
Friday marks the lone home match for USC Aiken this season. Heading into the contest, the Pacers are 8-6 in the Convocation Center. USC Aiken has posted winning records in the Convocation Center every year since 2011 (the team was 6-10 at home in 2010). Since 2011, the team is 140-37 at home, which equates to a .791 winning percentage.
Inside The Numbers
This week, USC Aiken hosts Young Harris on Friday, Nov. 4 before traveling to Flagler on Sunday, Nov. 6. Since moving to Division II, the Pacers are 208-136 (60.5 percent) in Friday matches. The team is 20-13 (60.6 percent) in Sunday contests. During the same time, the team is 8-6 on Nov. 4 and 6-2 on Nov. 6.
