AIKEN, S.C. – The No. 19 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming Camden Collegiate, which is hosted by No. 10 Limestone on Oct. 3-4.
The event will be played at the Camden Country Club, which is a par-70, 6,455-yard course.
Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team will consist of
Oscar Abrahamsson,
Karl Frisk,
Rory McDonald O'Brien,
Kaeden Nomm and
Erik Olin.
Abrahamsson is second on the team with a 72.8 stroke average. Thus far, he has shot par or better in three of his six rounds of action. Abrahamsson finished 20
th at the season-opening event and garnered a top-20 finish by taking 19
that the last tournament.
Frisk turned in a seven-under par score in his last competition. The mark earned him a top-five finish and PBC Golfer of the Week honors. Frisk leads the squad with a 72.2 stroke average and has shot even par or better three times this year.
McDonald O'Brien competed in the season-opening event and currently sports a 78.0 stroke average. He shot a low-round of one-over par, 73, at the Bearcat Fall Invitational.
Carlisle will bring a pair of newcomers to the event. Nomm and Olin will be competing in their first collegiate event.
Nomm, a rookie from Minocqua, Wis., garnered all-state honors as a senior. He weas a three-time all-conference performer at Lakeland Union H.S. Nomm won the Wisconsin State Junior tournament and earned a pair of top-10 finishes at the state tournament his last two seasons.
Olin, a sophomore from Falsterbo, Sweden, attended Garden City C.C. There, he was a first-team all-conference selection. Olin posted a 72.31 stroke average and picked up one win to go along with six top-10 efforts.
