KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The No. 10 University of South Carolina Aiken golf team tied for second place at the Kiawah Island Invitational, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon.
The Pacers shot 30-under par, 834. Head coach
Michael Carlisle's team tied with West Georgia while Erskine picked up the win after shooting 33-under par, 831.
USC Aiken's final round of 271 marked the low round of the tournament, besting the squad's 273 during the second round of play.
Lee was fourth while Lander and Belmont Abbey tied for fifth. North Georgia and Barton were seventh and eighth, respectively. Limestone and Lenoir-Rhyne tied for ninth. King, Clayton State, Georgia College, Mount Olive and Hillsdale rounded out the leaderboard.
Leonardo Bono and
Björn Rosengren tied for ninth after shooting seven-under par, 209. Bono shot a final round six-under 66 while Rosengren posted a three-under par, 69, during the final 18 holes of competition.
Charlie Denvir and
Leo Johansson finished in a tie for 12
th. The dyad shot six-under par, 210, for the event. Denvir posted a final-round 66 while Johansson came home at one-under par, 71.
Thomas Trowbridge shot two-under par, 70, over the final 18 holes of play.
The Pacers return to action Oct. 4-5 at the Camden Collegiate.
