AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is ranked No. 1 in NCAA Division II in the very first GolfStat statistical ranking of the year.
The Pacers have accounted for three top-three finishes on the year. The squad finished second at the Kiawah Island Invitational, tied for third at the Camden Collegiate and was second at the Queens Invitational.
Individually,
Leo Johansson is ranked 7
th nationally with a 68.88 stroke average.
Björn Rosengren sports a No. 13 national ranking with a 69.66 stroke average.
Leonardo Bono is 33
rd with a 70.33 average and Rookie
Oscar Abrahamsson is No. 46 with a 70.0 average.
Charlie Denvir with a 72.33 average, Tom Trowbridge with a 73.66 average and
Karl Frisk with a 74.0 stroke average round out the Pacers' lineup.
Johansson's low round of the year is a 64. Bono and Charlie Denver each have a low round of 66 while Rosengren's best round of the season thus far is 67. Abrahamsson carded a 69 during his first collegiate tournament.
Johansson has a pair of top five finishes to his credit. Rosengren has two top-10 efforts while Bono has one.
