Pacers Are No. 1 In National Bushnell Golfweek Pre-Spring Poll

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is No. 1 in the Pre-Spring Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team recorded 11 first-place votes. The squad tallied 480 total points in the poll. 

Lincoln Memorial was second with 400 total points and one first-place nod. Barry was third with four first-place votes and 352 total points. Lee (342 points) and Indianapolis (306 points, 1 first-place vote) rounded out the top five. Lynn (No. 7), West Florida (No. 10) and Georgia Southwestern (No. 17) picked up the remaining three first-place nods.

The Pacers won their two fall tournaments. USC Aiken claimed the top spot at the Camden Collegiate by eight strokes. Carlisle's team notched the victory at the UNG Fall Invitational by seven strokes.

The Pacers return action Feb. 22-23 at the Pinnacle Bank Intercollegiate at Palmetto Hall. The event is hosted by Francis Marion.
