USC Aiken Set For NCAA South/Southeast Regional

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team is set for the upcoming NCAA
South/Southeast Regional, which will take place May 9-11.

The three-day event will take place at Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., and will be hosted by Rollins. Live stats will be available at PacerSports.com.

Head coach Michael Carlisle's team will consist of August Lindvall, Dan Sheehan, Thomas Trowbridge, George Eubank and Björn Rosengren.

Lindvall leads the squad with a 73.0 stroke average. He has competed in all 11 events and has a pair of top-five finishes on the season. Lindvall's low round on the season of 66 is a stroke off the best finish on the team this year.

Sheehan is closely behind Lindvall with a 73.2 stroke average. He has four top-10 finishes on the season and has registered par or better seven times. Sheehan's best round of the season was a 69.

Eubank and Trowbridge are tied with a 74.2 stroke average this season. Eubank is coming off a ninth-place effort at the PBC Tournament while Trowbridge finished 11th at the event. Eubank shot eight rounds of par or better this year while Trowbridge had tallied that feat four times. Trowbridge's low round of 66 is tied with Lindvall for second best on the season.

Rosengren has played in five events on the season and posted a season-low round of 73.

USC Aiken last played a postseason event at Howey-in-the-Hills during the 2015-16 season and finished 10th at the regional. The squad will look to advance to its first NCAA National Championship appearance since the 2014-15 season. That season, the squad reached Match Play but fell in the quarterfinals to Central Missouri 4-1.

At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 20-24 at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven.  The finals will be hosted by the Mountain East Conference.
