Throughout the 2019 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
Bottomley's Big Game
In the second game of the series at Columbus State,
Blake Bottomley produced one of his best games yet. The standout registered a double and a homer en route to a six-RBI contest. His stellar game helped propel the Pacers to the 13-0 victory.
Perfection
Zach Rafuse continued his strong start to 2019. Rafuse worked the second game of the series at Columbus State and proceeded to throw six innings. He struck out seven, walked only four and gave up just one base knock to the Cougars. He is now 6-0 on the season.
Bullpen
After
Zach Rafuse retired to the dugout,
Daniel Wiggins,
Blake Seigler and
Jacob Rye continued to carve up the Cougars for the final three innings. The trio each pitched an inning. Wiggins struck out one, Seigler struck out three and Rye added a strikeout in the 11-0 victory.
Rogers Races Around The Bases
Chandler Rogers has had a solid 2019 campaign. He showcased his ability to produce runs as well against the Cougars. In the 11-0 win, Rogers got on base three times and eventually came around to score all three times.
Wheels
Sean McQuillan has been able to be in the field regularly in 2019 and has promptly shown his speed on the bases. He is fourth in the PBC with 10 stolen bases – two ahead of teammate
Joey Smithers, who recently returned to the line-up.
