Women's Basketball | January 08, 2019

Throughout the 2018-19 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.

High-Octane Offense

Head coach Mark Miller's team exploded for a 30-point quarter in the road win at Southern Wesleyan. The squad was up by three at halftime, but embarked on a 17-0 run to start the third stanza en route to the 74-51 victory.

Top-10 Lists

With the 30-point outbreak, USC Aiken altered the school's record book. Since the inception of quarters in the collegiate game, the 30-point effort marked the fourth-most points scored in any quarter by the Pacers. The 30 points also marked the second-most points the team has scored in third quarter.

Balance

The Pacers were able to play 13 student-athletes in the win at Southern Wesleyan. USC Aiken placed three players in double figures for scoring, but also had three more that scored at least six points. In all, nine student-athletes played more than 10 minutes apiece.

Sharing Is Caring

The Pacers connected on 30 field goals in the win at Southern Wesleyan. The team dished out 26 assists on the 30 baskets. Since the start of the 2000-01 season, that marks the seventh-most assists by the program in a single game.

Dominating Defense

The USC Aiken women's basketball team put on a defensive clinic throughout the game in the win over Columbus State, but it was highlighted with an even stronger second quarter. The Pacers gave up just six points in the 10-minute stretch – and none after the first 4:14. During the final 5:46, USC Aiken outscored its opponent 10-0.

20

Kwajelin Farrar put together another solid game in the win over the Cougars. In fact, she turned in a 14-point, 13-rebound performance. It marked the 20th career double-double effort for Farrar, marking the most by a Pacer since the 2000-01 season.

Chandler Finds The Right Teammate

Kyrie' Chandler has always been unselfish – and she continued to do so while putting her teammates in a solid position to score in the win over Columbus State. Chandler distributed a game-high six assists in the contest.

Production Off The Bench

In the win over Columbus State, head coach Mark Miller's team managed to score 24 points from players who didn't start. That included 11 points from Sade Jonson and 10 from Melyk Taouil. Janae' Simpson chipped in three points.
