Throughout the 2018-19 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
Coming Home
The USC Aiken women's basketball team returns home after two consecutive road games against top-tier opponents. The squad has played seven of its last eight contests away from the Convocation Center. However, the team plays three of its next four at home, including two this week. The team is 5-0 at home, including a 3-0 ledger against PBC foes.
Friendly Confines
The Pacers, as mentioned previously, are 5-0 at home. The team sports a 3-0 record in the Convocation Center this season and has won six straight dating back to last year. USC Aiken has won the five home games by a combined 58 points – an average of 11.6 points per game.
Some Of The Best Away From Home
Although every team in the PBC is tough, the Pacers have already faced four of the top seven opponents on the road this year – while facing another at home (based off the PBC preseason poll). In addition to facing a top-25 North Georgia team in Dahlonega, USC Aiken opened the year at No. 3 Carson-Newman.
Hard To Defend
The Pacers have had multiple student-athletes lead the team in various categories throughout the season, making it hard for opponents to focus on just one to stop. Last week,
Grace Crawford poured in a team-high 11 points during a balanced contest at Francis Marion.
Alex Canady led the way with four assists while
Kwajelin Farrar posted highs of 14 rebounds and five blocks. Farrar tallied a team-high in points at North Georgia while
Janae' Simpson led the way in rebounds.
