Holliday And Östensson Earn All-America Accolades

NORMAN, Okla. – University of South Carolina Aiken golf standouts Johnson Holliday and Axel Östensson have been named to the PING All-America team, which was recently announced.

Holliday and Östensson earned honorable mention honors.

Holliday, the PBC individual medalist and all-conference performer, finished the season ranked No. 19 by Golfstat. He was a PING all-region selection. The Galivants Ferry, S.C., native wrapped up the year with five top-10 efforts, including three top-five efforts. Holliday notched a low-round 66 at the Newberry Invitational and tied the mark at the Bobcat Invitational as well as the PBC Championship. After finishing fourth at the Firestone Invitational and second at the Bobcat Invitational, Holliday won his first event with an eight-under par, 208, at the PBC Championship.  

Östensson, a native of Motala, Sweden, was tabbed the PBC Player of the Year. A first-team all-league performer and all-tournament team selection, Östensson wrapped up his season ranked No. 27 by Golfstat. He was a PING all-region selection and had four top-five finishes on the year, including three bronze medalist honors coming at the Newberry Invitational, Bobcat Invitational and the PBC Championship. At the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate, Östensson was fifth out of 90 student-athletes. He tallied a season-low 65 in the second round of the Bobcat Invitational. A three-time all-league honoree, Östensson was the 10th USC Aiken standout to be named Player of the Year by the PBC.
