Throughout the 2018-19 season, the USC Aiken Athletic Communications office will provide weekly notes, giving all of Pacer Nation an in-depth look at the team.
Chandler Can Knock It Down
Senior
Kyrie' Chandler has been known for putting on a scoring clinic – even within the confines of team chemistry. She was selective with her shots and connected on them when taken in the victory over Paine. Chandler drained six-of-10 attempts from the floor, including five-of-eight from downtown for a game-best 19 points.
Farrar Isn't Playing Fair
It's a common occurrence when
Kwajelin Farrar records a double-double. It's becoming less of an occurrence when she doesn't post one. Despite coming one rebound shy of a double-double in the win over Paine, Farrar drained seven-of-12 from the floor, had two blocks and dished out an assist while dominating several facets of the game.
M&M's – Not Just A Candy
The Pacers had five student-athletes in double figures in the team's last outing. USC Aiken had a pair that each connected for 12 points –
Madeline Sexton and
Melyk Taouil. The dyad combined to hit nine-of-14 from the floor, including four-of-six from downtown and 2-2 from the charity stripe.
Dominating The Final 10 Minutes
Although the Pacers maintained a solid lead heading into the fourth quarter, head coach
Mark Miller's squad ensured the visitors would not get back into the game. Over the final 10 minutes of work, the Pacers stretched their lead from 12 to 23 before winning by 21 points. During the final 10 minutes, USC Aiken outscored Paine 22-13.
Over Half The Time
The USC Aiken women's basketball team was solid on the court in the win over the Lions. The squad buried 31-of-56 shots from the floor. In all, the team canned 55.4 percent of the shots it took from the floor.
Over Half The Time – Part II
On the 31 field goals that head coach
Mark Miller's team connected on in the win over Paine, the squad registered 18 assists. In all, the team recorded an assist on 58.1 percent of the made field goals.
