August Lindvall has been named a Division II PING all-region honoree, as announced by the GCAA.
Lindvall, a sophomore from Bastad, Sweden, finished the season with a 73.4 stroke average. He accounted for team-best 14 rounds of par or better.
Lindvall tallied a low round of 69 on four occasions. He registered back-to-back rounds of 69 at the Firestone Invitational Oct. 3-4. He repeated his performance with a pair of rounds with a 69 at the Camden Collegiate Oct. 22-23.
Lindvall's best performance of the year was at the Firestone Invitational. His six-under par, 210, was good enough for fourth place. He posted a sixth-place effort at the Camden College (+5, 215), a fifth-place finish at the Newberry Invitational (+2, 218) and an eighth-place performance at the Saint Leo Invitational (-2, 214).
In all, Lindvall had six top-25 efforts on the year. He helped lead USC Aiken to a berth in the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional and a year-long national ranking.
