AIKEN, S.C. – The University of South Carolina Aiken golf team will host the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate March 6-7.
The Pacers are the lone Division II team in the 18-team field. It is a 6,617-yard par-70 course.
Participating teams include Akron, Augusta, Charleston Southern, Chattanooga, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Francis Marion, Furman, Georgia Southern, Liberty, Presbyterian, South Carolina, USC Aiken, USC Upstate, Temple, Virginia and Wofford.
Last year, South Carolina won the tournament with a 19-under par, 821. The Gamecocks shots 276-266-279 en route to the title. Virginia (-1, 839) and Augusta (+17, 857) rounded out the top three.
South Carolina's Matthew NeSmith won the event with a seven-under par, 203.
USC Aiken finished 11
th with a 41-over par, 881. The Pacers' top player was
Johnson Holliday, who posted a seven-over par, 217, to take 25
th.
