Pacers Sting Yellow Jackets to Close Out 2009 Calendar Year

Box Score AIKEN, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team cruised to a 68-47 victory over Allen University in the Convocation Center.  The win closes out the 2009 calendar year for the Pacers and propels them into 2010 riding a three-game winning streak.
USC Aiken is now 12-0 all-time against the Yellow Jackets.
A pair of sharp-shooters led USC Aiken in the scoring department as Casey McMasters (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin HS) finished with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting, while Mark Brown (Charlotte, N.C. / Hickory Grove Christian HS) scored all 12 of his points from beyond the arc on 4-of-5 shooting.
USC Aiken drained 11 total three-pointers in the contest.
The Pacers dominated the glass against the Yellow Jackets, outrebounding their opponents 44-22, using 18 offensive rebounds to create 12 second-chance points. Rashad Flowers (Charleston, S.C./Garrett Academy) was the chairman of the boards, swiping 11 total rebounds, to go along with five points, a block and an assist.
USC Aiken held a 32-27 advantage at halftime on the strength of 10-of-25 shooting.
The Pacers wasted no time coming out of the locker room at halftime, ripping off a 10-0 run to start the second half and not allowing Allen to score until 5:27 into the final stanza.
Seth Leonard (York, Pa./William Penn) led the Pacer defensive effort with six rebounds and three steals, while dishing out six assists and scoring seven points. Allen entered the game with four players averaging double-figures in scoring. USC Aiken did not allow a single Yellow Jacket to finish the game in double-figure scoring.
Vince Alexander used the Pacers depth to his full advantage, outscoring the Yellow Jackets, 25-15, off the bench.
Allen was led in scoring by Demetrice Terrell, who finished with nine points on 2-of-9 shooting.
USC Aiken improves to 29-2 in the regular season in the Convocation Center since the facility opened its doors in 2007.
The Pacers return to action after a two week holiday break on Jan. 4 at home in the Convocation Center as part of a men's and women's doubleheader in the Pacers' Peach Belt Conference home opener against Georgia Southwestern. The women's game tips off at 5:30 p.m. with the Pacer men's contest against the Hurricanes slated to get underway at approximately 7:30 p.m.
