CHARLESTON, S.C. - Led by a strong showing from sophomore
Jani Linde, USC Aiken ran to a fourth place finish out of 11 teams at The Citadel Invitational Saturday morning in Charleston, S.C. The Lady Pacers tallied 143 points in the meet, just edging Peach Belt Conference foe Lander by four points but faling well short of first-place Lees-McRae. Furman took the top spot in the Division I meet.
Linde led the team to the finish line for the second time this season and in the process broke the 21-minute mark for the first time. Linde's time of 20:59.89 was good enough for 18th place. Following Linde in a tight pack were
Nicole Maitland (21:14.10) in 22nd,
Renea Marshall (21:26.27) in 28th, and Alley Dahchenhaus (21:27.38) in 29th. Rounding out the scoring for USCA was freshman
Maggie Blair in 60th place with a time of 23:44.65. Fellow freshman
Andrea Garcia ran for the second time this season and finished in 80th place (27:44.02).Â
USC Aiken will next run in the USC Beaufort Invitational in Bluffton, S.C., next Saturday, October 6, at 9:30 AM.
