ATLANTA, Ga. - For the second consecutive meet, Larry Milner's injury-plagued USC Aiken cross country team was forced to compete without the five runners necessary to earn a point total in the team competition. Three Lady Pacers missed the competition due to injury, leaving just three runners to finish the race won by Emory University.
The three USCA runners stayed in a pack throughout the race and finished in order in 69th, 70th, and 71st. There were 171 runners in the non-Division I portion of the competition. Sophomore
Jani Linde led the way for the first time in her career, finishing with a time of 22:38.55. Behind her in 70th with a time of 22:39.11 was freshman
Nicole Maitland, and
Renea Marshall rounded out the pack in 22:41.02.
The Lady Pacers, who made three additions to their roster last week, should field a complete team for the Jaguar Invitational/Pre-Conference Meet on September 22, at 8:30 AM, in Evans, Ga.
